El Paso Regional Economic Development Corporation (REDCo)
The Challenge
Perceived as a quiet border town in West Texas, the El Paso Regional Economic Development Corporation (REDCo) wanted to promote Fort Bliss as it experiences one of the nation’s largest net gains of military personnel as well as the city’s unique border location in attracting investment.
The Result
- Stories featuring the city’s downtown revitalization, expansion of Fort Bliss, and growing industries such as the life sciences appeared in The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Fox Business Network, The Economist, Dallas Morning News, NPR, and Bloomberg Television – totaling over $1.2 million in advertising equivalency.
- Op-ed pieces featuring El Paso ran in strategic trade publications including Inbound Logistics and Manufacturing.net, and in turn, led to an increase in the city’s prospect inquiries.
- Nine location advisors attended a luncheon held in New York City to hear about the unique business advantages of operating within the El Paso/Juárez region.
- Over a dozen U.S. correspondents representing more than eight countries participated in a tour of the region and its cross-border collaborative efforts.
- REDCo’s president addressed an audience of elected officials and transportation professionals at a key regional conference focusing on international cross border issues and transportation safety measures.
