Up Close

As the only “True Vermonter” in her family, Katrina will always identify with her Vermont upbringing. Having grown up on the family farm, she still prides herself on her ability to hay a field, feed livestock and drive a tractor. She owes her love of adventure to her travel experiences, and believes that wisdom comes from pushing boundaries and stepping outside of comfort zones.  Her greatest accomplishment thus far has been her move to NYC, which she considers to be her greatest adventure to date.

Surprising Facts about Katrina

Dinner Party faux pas

Katrina was extremely shy as a young child. Though raised with manners and the principle of respecting her elders, she occasionally chose to remain silent when gathered in large groups. (Don’t worry, this ceased by the age of 5.) One evening, while having dinner at a friend of the family’s home, she was instructed by her parents to say thank you for the meal that her kind hosts had provided. Though normally a polite four year old, Katrina instead refused to say thank you – or anything at all. Though some prodding by her parents ensued, she chose instead to sit for three hours at the dinner table, alone, in her silence. Perhaps it was the warmth of her snowsuit or the lateness of the hour, but finally she stood up, walked over to her hosts and said a simple, “thank you.” Needless to say, to this day, Katrina always makes it a point to thank her hosts at a dinner party!

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

Though a true New England sports fan at heart, Katrina has developed a strong bond for the New York Mets. From the guidance of her devout cheering counterpart, she has become well versed in the quickest route to Shea Stadium, and the local Mets television station is never more than a click away. She shows her support proudly by displaying a rare Endy Chavez bobble head on her bookcase in Brooklyn.
