Up Close
Dariel and her husband, Bill, can mostly be found "at play" with their two children. Jamie is studying environmental science at the University of Maine and pursuing his passion for fishing, hunting and all things outdoors. Eleanor is a high-honors high school student, who is also a national caliber field hockey player and all-star softball pitcher. Dariel occasionally still plays hoops, recalling her days as a four-year starter on Brown's basketball team.
Where You'll Find Dariel on a Sunny Day
In the woods. Dariel is a hiker at heart. To wit: she back-packed in the Grand Tetons when she was five months pregnant (using goats as pack animals) and was still hiking when she was 19 days overdue. Dariel currently serves as a director on the Roxbury Land Trust, which maintains miles of hiking trails in its 24 nature preserves.

Surprising Facts about Dariel
Farmer's Daughter Growing up on a dairy farm in upstate New York, Dariel knows how to milk a cow, drive a tractor, unload a hay wagon and win blue ribbons at the state fair for baking killer sugar cookies. She also knows the value of hard work.
A Need for Speed Maybe it's the feel of the wind blowing through her hair or the adrenaline rush of hurtling across the earth. Whatever the reason, Dariel just knows she likes to "go fast." Her first car was a Corvette (don't ask), and she loves to zoom around on motorcycles, snowmobiles and boats - where you'll usually find her about 30 feet behind, zipping by on water skiis.
A Room with a View Walking the work-family tightrope since her children were born, Dariel gave up a corner office with a view of the Manhattan skyline for a home office with a stunning view of the woods and her perennial garden. | |
