Brittani hails from Texas, with experience in educational public relations and graphic design. It’s this creative background that stimulates her innovative ideas and adds flare to destination communication campaigns. A graduate of Baylor University, Brittani was first introduced to DCI through the firm’s internship program and became enthralled with the fun, fast-paced environment, resulting in her inevitable return to the Big Apple.
Brittani’s Passion for Places
Brittani’s love for places began when she was in grade school. Living in five different southern states before the age of 14, she found each move to be a new adventure. Her fervor for new cultures and experiencing new places cultivated a love of road trips – the longer the better! Working at DCI allows Brittani to continue her romance with places and share her love of travel with others.
Notable Results
- On Groundhog Day in February, Brittani orchestrated a guerilla marketing push for Pennsylvania’s Tourism Office. The coverage on NBC’s Today Show resulted in more than 8 minutes of air-time and reached an audience of more than 6 million with Pennsylvania’s key messages.
- When Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper traveled to New York to announce the Biennial of the Americas, Brittani worked on this major press conference and secured editorial interest from The Art Newspaper, Chicago Tribune and USA Today.
- Brittani played a key role in researching and facilitating outreach to Lifetime’s How to Look Good Naked for the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), resulting in a two-episode shoot at the destination.
- On behalf of Denver Metro CVB, Brittani generated interest in the Mile High City’s 150th anniversary, stimulating coverage in the Dallas Morning News and Los Angeles Times.
Up Close
After moving throughout the south, Brittani’s family settled in El Paso, Texas, which has led to her love of Hispanic culture and food. Jalapenos, green chilies and anything spicy top the list for Brittani, who loves to find authentic Mexican restaurants. While she is not of Hispanic descent, her friends from home consider Brittani “50 per cent” after living there for so long.

She’s A (Published) Poet and Didn’t Even Know it
From a young age, Brittani has had a fascination with words. She started writing poetry at the age of eleven, keeping journals filled with rhythm and rhymes. Once in high school, a supportive English teacher submitted her work, and lo and behold, today Brittani is a published poet!
Air Force One…No, Not the Shoes
What do President Bush, Harrison Ford and Brittani Wood have in common? “Air Force One” of course. While living in Waco, Texas, Brittani was able to get up close and personal with the highly protected and most renowned plane in the world when President Bush flew in to visit his ranch in Crawford.
Controlling the Purse Strings
If there is one thing Brittani is good at it’s balancing a budget. As treasurer of both her drill team and sorority, Brittani has worked with budgets upward of $100,000 as well as fundraisers that brought in more than $25,000. In these roles, she successfully cut down the amount of back money owed and assisted financially-burdened members. With this kind of experience, Brittani should never be in the red!
