AT WORK AT PLAY

Background

In 1960, Millicent used the experience she gained working on Puerto Rico’s “Operation Bootstrap” development program to help found Development Counsellors International with Ted Levine. Since then, she has provided marketing assistance to approximately half of DCI’s clients. She has also authored articles on economic development in national publications such as Barron’s, Venture Japan, Area Development and Business Facilities.

Millie's Passion for Places

Working with DCI from the very beginning has sent Millie traveling throughout at least half of the 50 U.S. states as well as Mexico, South America, the Caribbean, four Canadian provinces and 11 European countries. It's little wonder that Millie enjoys working at DCI, "The Leader in Marketing Places."

Notable Results

• Most notably, Millie helped Ted Levine start DCI with its first two clients, Nigeria and Australia; and since then, she's had involvement in assisting a good portion of DCI's more than 350 clients.

• Millie directed marketing efforts for Jersey City, New Jersey, that resulted in 12 New York City brokerage firms relocating there.

• Millie attracted 130 business writers and editors to a major luncheon featuring leaders from the state of Louisiana.

• On behalf of the city of Norfolk, Virginia, Millie drew more than 250 executive attendees to each of the city's three annual New York City luncheon events.

• For Geneva, Switzerland, Millie arranged three days of one-on-one prospect interviews in New York City.
