Background

Matt joined DCI in 2008 after graduating from Pennsylvania State University with a bachelor’s degree in public relations. His experience working for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, fielding calls from legislators and constituents, and disseminating information to the media and public, as well as completing two successful internships at DCI, have given him great insight into economic development marketing.

And since Matt loves being “in the know,” marketing communities with DCI was the next logical step to help satiate his endless curiosity. Since joining DCI, Matt has not only had the chance to stay informed, but has also gotten to tell others about the exciting things happening in his client regions.

Matt's Passion for Places

As a native of northeastern Pennsylvania, Matt understands that you never know what you’ll find when stepping out your front door. From vacationing up and down the eastern U.S., to summer trips with friends to the shore and impromptu road trips to Florida, Matt knows different places mean interesting people and exciting adventures -- and memories to last a lifetime. Who wouldn’t want a slice of that?

Subsequently, two articles ran in the Washington Post about Alaska Natives and the threat climate change poses to their society and way of life.

• Working for the Baton Rouge Area Chamber, Matt helped coordinate a New York City media tour for key Baton Rouge spokespeople, which included face-to-face meetings with reporters from The New York Times and Bloomberg.

• On behalf of the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce, Matt supported an automotive manufacturing press trip to the city, which included reporters from target publications, such as Automotive News, Scripps Howard News Service, and Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
